A character created for an X-Men: Evolution RP I'm in. ^_^ Two guesses what her power is, and the first one doesn't count.

Anyway, Gail Andrews AKA "Greyhound", was a carrier of mutant genes, but they were dormant. Until, that is, she turned to science to awaken them. She got superspeed, but at a heavy price. Her metabolism, pulse, breathing-rate, all of it, are way faster than they should be, thus she burns energy at an incredible rate. She must spend every waking hour (all four of them) eating. To conserve energy, she spends up to 20 hours a day in a deep, hibernation-like sleep.

She can handle "slow" speeds of up to 45-50 mph without any problems, but when she gets near her max of 245, it's a different story. She can't hold top speed for very long at all, and when a dash like that is over, she's exhausted, hypoxic, suffering stabbing chest pains as her heart struggles to keep up, has a case of "red-out", her legs are laced with stress fractures, not to mention the fact that she's quite litterally on the brink of starvation.

Needless to say, her science-spawned "gift" is less than a blessing.

(P.S. I'm new to the X-Men Evo. style, and have (obviously) still not quite gotten the hang of it. Any help in making Greyhound look like she ran straight out of the show would be greatly appreciated. ^_^ And I know all you Evo fans out there can probably figure out what I'm doing wrong.)
